Making of "Lost Kingdom of Arakan" documentary. The name Rakhine or Arakan was originated from Pali word: Rakkha-Rakkhine-Rakhine ; Ahrakkha-Arakan: meaning that who were titled this name in honour of preservation on their national heritage and ethics or morality-Sila. Arakan ( Rakhine ) was once independent Kingdom (BC 3325 - AD1784) In mid-November, 1784 the Burman King Maung Wine violated the good friendly neighbour's ethics, dispatched his invading forces into Arakan and occupied it by the end of 1784. Arakanese (Rakhine) are Theravada Buddhism. After 1784, Arakan (Rakhine Nationality) are part of Union Myanmar. In March 2012 German Production company planned to make aerial shots for a ZDF documentary of the lost Kingdom of Arakan in today (Rakhine, Myanmar) near the Bay of Bengal. Mrauk-U, a fine last royal capital of Rakhine has scenic beauty and historical remains which are inextricable and remarkable. Innumerable pagodas belonging to all ages can be found throughout the city. It is no wonder that Mrauk-U is popularly known as the 'Land of Pagodas' and Europeans remarked Mrauk-U as 'The Golden City'. To realize the aerial images we used a so called Mikrokopter, a tiny multirotor flying machine which is controlled by a wireless remote control. The camera is also controlled by wireless transmission of the video signal to a high-resolution video goggles which gives the pilot real time control about the recorded image. All the scenes has been NOT stabilized in post production, NOT slowed down, only some color correction was made. To realize a long distance flight of 13 minutes, a high capacity lithium polymer battery was used.
